CAN COUNSELING HELP?

A counselor can assist with improving problem-solving skills, and enhanced coping strategies for issues with relationship problems, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, career decisions and stress related problems. Counselors provide a place where you can come and work through your problems free of being judged.  Counseling provides you with the assurance of a safe and confidential environment to share. Counseling is an opportunity for you to see things from a different perspective and to find realistic and personable solutions to problems which are interfering with you living your best life.  Counseling is a partnership, and your success is greatly depended on the client/counselor relationship, how well you participate in the process and implement what you are learning.I'm a paragraph. WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

During your initial appointment you will be asked to complete an intake package which consists of basic information about you, HIPPA consent forms, confidentiality statement, reasons you are seeking counseling. **It is a good idea to arrive early to complete required paperwork.

Next your counselor will invite you into their office and review paperwork with you, explaining in detail the counseling process to ensure understanding. The counseling relationship and expectations will also be discussed at this time along and any questions you might have will be answered.

Your counselor will also be completing a bio-psycho social assessment with you which ask questions about your presenting problem, personal history, family, education and physical health.

Once information is collected,  your counselor will discuss with you whether they feel they can assist with your problem and will schedule your next appointment.   If it is believed that you could benefit from other services or working with someone who is more specialized to treat your specific problem, every effort will be made to refer you to another provider.
